Tanzania is, without a doubt, a fabulous introduction to Africa and all things safari. It’s the largest country in East Africa, and almost a third of the vast lands are protected for game viewing, so safari opportunities are endless and always exciting. And no description of a Tanzania safari would be complete without a mention of the Great Migration in the Serengeti, one of the natural world’s most spectacular wildlife shows.

Itinerary

Next door to Kilimanjaro International Airport, the little town of Arusha is the gateway to your safari and the perfect introduction to the cultural interactions, hiking, and sightseeing opportunities that abound here. Arusha is the point for a safari in Tanzania, and thus the place where one’s safari adventures both begin and ends.
Meals: dinner, breakfast & picnic lunches

Located just a short drive from Arusha and Moshi, the Arusha National Park is Tanzania’s most accessible national park and the perfect place for a day trip or as the first or last stop on a longer itinerary. At just 552 square kilometers, it’s a small park with a lot to see. With diverse wildlife that includes herbivores such as elephants, hippos, buffalo, zebra, and even the occasional wildebeest, Arusha National Park is also a perfect place to get out and stretch your legs – with both walking safaris and canoe safaris available within the park. Arusha National Park is also home to the world’s largest population of giraffes, making it a great place to visit for fans of these long-necked, beautiful animals. Arusha National Park boasts a broad variety of landscapes, ranging from open savannah through acacia scrubland to rainforest and, eventually, to alpine conditions on the higher reaches of Mt. Meru.

After breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park for an advantageous game drive. Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, surrounded by baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. Before the rains, groups of gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, and giraffes migrate to Tarangire National Park’s scrub plains where the last grazing land remains. Tarangire National park takes on the sixth largest position among Tanzania’s National parks, after Ruaha, Serengeti Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi, From the Tarangire River, is where the name of the park comes, crosses through the eye-catching park. In the afternoon enjoy your lunch at the picnic site within the park, after lunch break continues with the game drive until sunset then drives to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded here at Lake Manyara Park one of the smaller parks in Tanzania. It covers a small area and a large proportion of the lake itself. On the partly forested edges, you will find and get a chance to watch the proud elephants with their impressive tusks search for food and go about their daily business. Manyara is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos but also for the tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon enjoy your hot lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, and continue with the game drive until sunset. At the sunset drive and check in at your accommodation for relaxation dinner and overnight.
